Awesome Reading

Rachel had a reading celebration today because she has been reading for 75 nights....that's a lot of reading Rachel! I love the way you use expression and that you enjoy reading to your friends.

Imogen has been reading for 25 nights. Imogen, you are so careful when you read. I love the way you can point to the words and that you know so many words now.

Kai Ying is also a super reader - 50 nights. Well done for the way you can read so carefully and accurately Kai Ying, you are a reading super star.

What are we Learning?

In Maths we are learning how to
* count forward and backwards to 10, 20 and 100.
We are also working on
* the next number after and the number before a number

In Reading we are learning to
* talk about the story we have read in our own words
* point to each word as we read

* try words we are unsure of

When we come to a word we don't know we need to
* Look at the picture

* Make the first sound
* Say a word that makes sense

In Writing we are learning to
* write the first sounds in words
* write the words we know by ourselves
* try writing by ourselves

Learning is so much fun.
