Today when we went to the library we were so lucky because Room 15 came with us.
The Room 15 children read us some stories. We really enjoyed listening to them and it was fun to get to know other children too.
This morning Miss Begg organised for lots of classes to come out to Jump Jam. Jump Jam is really fun, it is a kind of aerobics to keep us fit. We enjoyed watching the big kids and we joined in too.
Today we had our Big Day In.
This is a celebration of awesome learning all term.
We watched Charlie and Lola with all the Year One children in the hall.
It was very funny and lots of the stories are ones we have read in our classroom!
We also had a special iceblock treat at the end....we enjoyed sitting with our friends and eating our iceblocks.
"I loved the STA games because they are the best," said Kai Ying. "I liked getting wet at the STA games," said Charlotte B. "I loved the splashing water game," said Rachel. "I loved it," said Max. "I loved the races," said Ethan. "I loved going on the playground," said Lily. "I liked throwing the balloons," said Ollie. "I loved the game with the water balloons when we had to throw them to each other," said Charlotte D. "I loved the STA games and a big person told us there was treasure in the ground but there wasn't and we got wet!" said Tane. "I liked the STA games when we threw the water balloons to each other. One splashed on the grass!" said Jarod. "I liked it when you had to catch water balloons and put it in the bucket," said Rory. "I loved the teachers having some water guns and they squirted us when we ran down to the other end!" said Josh. I showed the St Albans Values......
by having fun at the games
by showing respect - we listened to the teachers tell us how to play the games
we folded our arms and crossed our legs when we listened to show respect and when we finished games to show we were finished
This was a day full of fun and a chance to show our school values.
We worked as part of lots of communities- our family, our class, our school, our house colour, our class country, our STA games team and the teams within our teams.
We showed perseverence, community spirit, fun, excellence, team work, cooperation, support for others and so many other fantastic St Albans values.
There was a fantastic opening ceremony - there was some outstanding entertainment and the STA torch was there, the Queen opened and closed the games too.
We had an amazing international lunch and it was so yummy!
This is a video of some of the highlights of the day.
We were fantastic at speaking into the microphone and learning the words we needed to say. We spoke clearly and confidently which is what we have been learning to do in our class.
We shared some awesome art work and also we shared some of the songs we have been singing with Mrs Tasker. We had fun being on the stage and we felt very proud at the end of the day.
Congratulations to Josh who has completed 50 nights of reading.
Josh I love that you are so enthusiastic about reading and that you are so good at trying new words on your own - keep up the great reading, I'm proud of you.
Jarod- you have reached 25 nights of reading, what a star. I love the way you think carefully about the story you are reading and always make sure your reading makes sense. Well done Jarod.
We took photos of our noses and now we have them on display in our classroom.....can you identify us by just looking at our nose??!! It is kind of funny to see...and really hard to take a photo of just a nose!
