window art

We are taking lots of things down in our classroom at the moment to get it ready for the end of the year.

We are so lucky because Josh and his Mum brought along some really neat liquid chalk pens for us to use today.  We had a turn at drawing something special for us about this time of year.  We have some great pictures on our windows- have a look at what we have done.  We will wipe it all off next week and have another turn!

Big Day In Update

WOW.....Mrs Warren came to our class after lunch today!

It was soo exciting because we shared our plan with her.....and she talked to us about the school values and said our plan fits the school values so she said YES

We are so excited because now we can write a letter to our parents and invite them to our Big Day In Breakfast Party!

This was written by Josh after school yesterday, I just found it!

A Big Day In.....a Plan

We felt sad because we haven't been to the beach like the other classes.....but we will have a turn next year!

So.....we had a great idea today.

We thought we could have a Big Day In.

We got together with Room 14 and we made a plan.

We thought it would be fun to come to school in our pyjamas.
We could have breakfast at school.  We are really good at making our own toast now because we do it at Discovery Time!  We could have waffles, pancakes, fruit, juice, milo and lots of other yummy things.  We would like our parents to come too!

After breakfast we could put our togs on and play outside on a water slide and bouncy castle.

After lunch we could make our own ice cream sundaes and watch a movie together!

We had fun thinking of our plan and we wrote our ideas down.

We invited Mrs Warren to our class so we can ask permission to have a Big Day In....now we are waiting until she can make it to our class!  We hope she says yes!

If she does we will write a letter to our parents to tell them about it and invite them to breakfast

We feel excited about our plan.

"I feel happy," said Ava.
"We love our Big Day In idea," said Kai Ying.
"Can we please do it?" begged Joe.
"We could go to school in our pyjamas!" said Olivia.
"I love the Big Day In idea," said Lily.

Authentic Writing

Today we were very lucky because Max's Mum gave us some real Christmas Cards.  We used our amazing writing skills to write a letter to our friends and family inside a real Christmas Card.

We are so proud of how well we can write by ourselves now.....after only a few weeks of school we ALL know how to write lots of words and we can do it BY OURSELVES!

Counting Down

Today we made Christmas Elves.  They will help us count down from 20 and help us to know when it is Christmas!

We had to think hard about how to cut out, make a pattern and write the numbers from 1-20.

Have a look at how we went.

Each day when we come to school we can put a sticker on another number to help us know how many sleeps until Christmas.  We will take these home at the end of the year and maybe even use them again at other Christmas times in our family.

Reindeer fun

Today we made some great Reindeer Headbands.

Have a look at how cute we are.

Our Own Pirate Band

We have been learning about the ukulele.  We had some fun today playing the ukulele and song leading.

We can all play note c and we can all hold the ukulele just right!

Christmas Fun

Today we put up our class Christmas Tree.  Thanks to Nicky and Charlotte for providing it!

After we put the tree up we did a great maths activity about measuring and we made our own Christmas tree to put on the wall.

We also made stained-glass style Christmas trees today.....it's been a real Christmas Tree kind of day!....and we still had time to do some excellent reading.
