Room 10 St Albans School: Certificates

Congratulations to Tane who received the Heart of Achievement for our class today. Tane is a super worker who displays the school values in all that he does. Tane is a hard working boy who does his best and is a kind friend to other children.

Congratulations to Rachel who has completed 25 nights of reading- a huge effort and great progress. Well done Rachel, I'm really proud of you.

Today we presented our first Heart of Achievement Award - this is given out twice a term to the Year One children. It was very hard to make a decision about who should win this award....Congratulations Ava, you are our first Heart of Achievement winner. You received this award for always being a positive learner, for caring about other people, always doing your very best quality work and for being a pleasure to teach.

Today we welcomed Tane, Jarod, Charlotte and Che to our school in assembly.

What are we Learning?

In Maths we are learning how to
* count forward and backwards to 10, 20 and 100.
We are also working on
* the next number after and the number before a number

In Reading we are learning to
* talk about the story we have read in our own words
* point to each word as we read

* try words we are unsure of

When we come to a word we don't know we need to
* Look at the picture

* Make the first sound
* Say a word that makes sense

In Writing we are learning to
* write the first sounds in words
* write the words we know by ourselves
* try writing by ourselves

Learning is so much fun.
