Stewing Apples...Yum

Today in Discovery Time we made our own stewed apples and ate them with some ice cream! It was so yummy- our classroom smelled delicious!

We had to peel the apples and then cut them into little pieces before we cooked them in the fry pan. We showed excellent cutting skills.

What are we Learning?

In Maths we are learning how to
* count forward and backwards to 10, 20 and 100.
We are also working on
* the next number after and the number before a number

In Reading we are learning to
* talk about the story we have read in our own words
* point to each word as we read

* try words we are unsure of

When we come to a word we don't know we need to
* Look at the picture

* Make the first sound
* Say a word that makes sense

In Writing we are learning to
* write the first sounds in words
* write the words we know by ourselves
* try writing by ourselves

Learning is so much fun.
