Reading to the Class

Today we all had a turn at reading our favourite reading book to the class. We were allowed to sit on Mrs Pelham's chair while we read our story.
We are so good at reading and we tried really hard to use a clear, loud voice like we will use in the poetry competition tomorrow.

You will need to turn the volume up quite loud to hear our fantastic reading.

What are we Learning?

In Maths we are learning how to
* count forward and backwards to 10, 20 and 100.
We are also working on
* the next number after and the number before a number

In Reading we are learning to
* talk about the story we have read in our own words
* point to each word as we read

* try words we are unsure of

When we come to a word we don't know we need to
* Look at the picture

* Make the first sound
* Say a word that makes sense

In Writing we are learning to
* write the first sounds in words
* write the words we know by ourselves
* try writing by ourselves

Learning is so much fun.
